A new partnership between DB Results and Lenexa Medical, aims to help patients rest easy, with the development of the Quality of Care Smart Sheet.

Pressure Injuries (PIs) are mostly preventable, however, in Australia alone, there are over 300,000 cases of PIs each year. PIs remain a devastating complication for patients in hospital and aged care settings, particularly where a person is immobile for a prolonged period.

A new partnership between DB Results and Lenexa Medical, aims to help patients rest easy, with the development of the Quality of Care Smart Sheet. The high tech ultra-thin bed sheet will assist clinicians in treating patients as well as provide a real time monitoring device for PI risk.

Lenexa Medical's CEO, Ajit Ravindran is passionate about affordable quality care for patients and reducing the costs to families and the healthcare system. "Pressure injuries are not only preventable but have become a multibillion-dollar healthcare burden."

The Lenexa Medical Quality of Care Smart Sheet aims to improve the current standard of care, which involves an often subjective and underperformed visual and tactile risk assessment. This leads to non-targeted prevention strategies and poor quality of care. Mr Ravindran said, "Our solution is the first of its kind to help facilitate personalised, precision-based pressure injury prevention. Our smart sheet will provide clinicians and carers with information to help in the quest to completely prevent pressure injuries."
